Postal Employee Pleads Guilty to Making False Statements

Federal prosecutors in southern Illinois announced that a postal worker pleaded guilty to making false statements to receive benefits under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act. Randy Goodwin, 56, started receiving benefits after he was injured while working for the U.S. Postal Service in 2013. He failed to report that he started working at his family’s restaurant in East St. Louis after the accident, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Southern Illinois said in a statement.
