Bill, Postponed for a Vote, Would End Disability for Pro Athletes at Age 35

The Illinois Legislature has put off a vote to reform the state's workers’ compensation system until at least the second week in February after senators adjourned Thursday without passing a 13-bill package aimed at ending the nation’s longest budget impasse. Trial attorneys said they don’t believe Senate Bill 12 has any hope of passing unless the Senate removes a provision that would end disability benefits for professional athletes at age 35.
