A Riverside County jury convicted a doctor on seven counts of fraud relating to workers’ compensation medical-legal reports, and seven counts of perjury for lying to the Medical Board of California during a disciplinary proceeding.
The jury on Thursday found Dr. Benjamin G. Cox, 86, guilty on seven counts of fraud for billing carriers $90,000 for med-legal reports when he was not a qualified medical evaluator. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 13.
