Governor Signs Weakened Employer Compliance Bill, Nurse Treatment Bill

Hawaii Gov. David Ige this week signed into law a bill that will allow advanced practice registered nurses to treat injured workers, and another measure that stiffens penalties against employers who don't provide workers' compensation coverage.  Those penalties are less severe than they would have been if the bill not undergone significant amendments during the conference committee process, where a group of senators and House members worked out differences in the versions that passed each chamber.
