The chief financial officer of a company that was used to conceal kickbacks paid to providers who referred workers’ compensation patients to Pacific Hospital of Long Beach pleaded guilty Friday to aiding in the preparation of a false tax return.
George William Hammer, 65, in June agreed to plead guilty to the sole count in a superseding information filed with the U.S. District Court for Central California. U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton ordered him to return to court Feb. 22 for a sentencing hearing after he formally entered his guilty plea Friday.
