California, the largest workers’ compensation market in the country, also has the highest insurance premiums, according to a study released Wednesday by the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services.
California employers pay workers’ compensation premiums of $3.48 for every $100 of payroll, according to the “2014 Oregon Workers’ Compensation Premium Rate Ranking” study. That’s 61 cents, or 21.3%, higher than the No. 2 ranking state – Connecticut.
