California's share of wages paid to workers covered by workers' compensation dropped in 2022 while the state's share of cash and medical benefits paid to injured workers increased, according to a bulletin the California Workers' Compensation Institute published Wednesday.
California accounted for 12.1% of U.S. jobs covered by work comp in 2022, slightly more than the 11.9% of jobs covered by comp in 2021. However, the state's share of covered wages fell to 14.5% in 2022 from 15.1% in 2021.
