A New York lawmaker introduced a bill that would create a workers’ compensation fraud assessment commission to provide funding for investigations and prosecutions.
Senate Bill 7950, by Sen. Jamaal T. Bailey, D-Bronx, would create a nine-member Fraud Assessment Commission to advise the State Workers’ Compensation Board and the Workers’ Compensation Inspector General on an assessment to levy each year to pay district attorneys to investigate and prosecute work comp fraud.
