IG Announces $109,000 in Restitution Paid in Fraud Case

The New York State Inspector General's Office announced that a woman paid $109,000 in restitution after she was convicted of collecting workers' compensation benefits intended for her husband after he died in 2018. From 2018 to 2021, Lydia Parise signed her husband's name on more than 80 checks and deposited them into her personal account. She pleaded guilty to petit larceny on Friday.
