Lawmakers in Washington state introduced identical companion bills that would create a presumption that post-traumatic stress disorder is a compensable occupational disease for correctional facility workers.
The presumption proposed by House Bill 1070, by Rep. Lauren Davis, D-Shoreline, and Senate Bill 5043, by Sen. Manka Dhingra, D-Redmond, would apply to correctional workers who develop PTSD after working full time for at least 90 consecutive days.
