Self-driving commercial vehicles are starting to hit the road, and while the technology may benefit workers’ comp, the impact will be very gradual, some say.
Kodiak Robotics started delivering freight between Dallas and Houston via self-driving trucks in early August, according to company spokesman Adi Raval. While the trucks are described as self-driving, a “safety driver” sits behind the wheel. The driver is an experienced trucker with a commercial license and is an employee of Kodiak, Raval said.
