Oregon’s Management-Labor Advisory Committee will review a bill dealing with the definition of "covered" employee, and two measures calling for studies of the state’s comp system, during a Friday meeting.
MLAC members will discuss House Bill 3188, which would define workers covered by state comp laws to be anyone other than an independent contractor providing services for remuneration. Current law defines a worker as someone furnishing services for remuneration, subject to the direction and control of an employer.
