New York Gov. Kathy Hochul vetoed a bill that would have amended the definition of permanent total disability, arguing that the measure would have created an unfunded liability of at least $800 million.
Hochul on Friday vetoed Assembly Bill A2748, by Rep. Harry Bronson, D-Rochester, which would have said anyone approved for federal Social Security disability benefits because of a compensable accident or occupational disease has a permanent total disability.
