A federal grand jury indicted two Southern California surgeons for allegedly accepting kickbacks to operate on patients referred to Pacific Hospital of Long Beach.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Drs. Jacob Tauber and Serge Obukhoff together received more than $40 million in illegal kickbacks. The latest indictment brings to nearly $1 billion the cost of the fraudulent claims generated by Pacific Hospital of Long Beach kickback scheme.
