ProPublica Report Prompts DWC to Audit Travelers

ProPublica and National Public Radio reported Monday that California regulators announced plans to audit Travelers Insurance as the result of an article that said the carrier used the independent medical-review process created by Senate Bill 863 to cut off home health care to a worker adjudged to be permanently and totally disabled. ProPublica and NPR on March 4 published a report critical of state workers' compensation systems throughout the country.
