Assembly Passes Network ID Bill

The California Assembly unanimously passed a bill that would require employers to provide their medical provider network name and identification number to injured workers, in certain circumstances. The Assembly voted 69-0 Thursday to pass AB 399, by Assemblyman Rudy Salas, D-Bakersfield. When an employer denies a worker’s choice of treating physician because the provider is not in the MPN, the worker could request that the employer provide the network name and ID number, under AB 399.
