Montana Gov. Steve Bullock vetoed a bill that requires workers' compensation claimants to allow communication between their physician and employer after the legislature refused to make changes that he recommended.
House Bill 358 would have allowed carriers to deny a claim if the claimant refused to allow his treating doctor to disclose medical information to an insurer. In order to ensure the claim would not be denied, the injured worker would have to sign a release form allowing doctors and insurers to communicate freely.
