Police Officer's Hospitalization May Fan Fentanyl Fears

The hospitalization of a police officer in Northern California on Monday after exposure to fentanyl may have sparked a new wave of concern about the dangers to first responders from contact with illicit drugs. Three officers with the Los Altos Police Department were processing evidence Monday morning when they came into contact with a substance suspected to be fentanyl, according to a Facebook post from the department.
