A bill introduced in the California Legislature would prohibit considering race, religion, sexual orientation and other protected classes when determining a percentage of permanent disability.
Senate Bill 788, authored by Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, would also signal lawmakers’ intent to root out biased and discriminatory practices in the state’s workers’ compensation system, according to the bill’s text.
