Changes to Medicare’s fee schedule structure for physician evaluation and management services are on the horizon, and they could result in increases to workers’ comp medical costs, the National Council on Compensation Insurance has projected.
The changes, slated for Jan. 1, 2021, will “collapse” several of the current evaluation and management codes for patient visits, assigning a single payment rate for visits with varying levels of complexity.
