Written Premium Through June Falls 10.6% Compared to 2019

The $7.6 billion in written premium reported for the first six months of 2020 is down 10.6% compared to the $8.5 billion reported during the same period in 2019, according to the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California. The WCIRB also said in its insurer experience report for the second quarter of 2020 that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to further reduce employer payroll and insurer premiums for the remainder of 2020.
