State, Financial Group Reach Settlement Benefitting Workers

Pre-settlement funding for injured claimants under the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Act is officially lawful, according to state Attorney General Lynn Fitch. The State of Mississippi and Oasis Financial, a company that offers monetary assistance for injured workers ahead of settlements, have resolved a dispute on whether the business model violated any Mississippi statutes by providing the money to injured workers.
