A measure that would extend for two more years presumptions that help define when COVID-19 is considered an occupational illness in California was added to the agenda for the Senate Appropriations Committee meeting on Aug. 8.
AB 1751, by Assemblyman Tom Daly, D-Anaheim, would preserve the presumptions lawmakers created with SB 1159 in 2020 and that are scheduled to sunset at the end of the year.
AB 1751 would postpone the sunsetting of the COVID-19 presumptions to Jan. 1, 2025, from Jan. 1, 2023.
