The chief of spinal surgery at University of California, Los Angeles failed to report $459,500 that was paid to him by private companies, a violation of state law that requires university researchers to disclose their financial ties to entities that fund their work, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing Congressional investigative records.Dr. Jeffrey Wang did not report income that he received from 2004 through 2007, according to a May 21 letter from Sen.
