Jury Acquits Sim Hoffman on Lone Remaining Fraud Charge

An Orange County jury acquitted a sleep doctor on the lone remaining charge from a case spanning more than a decade in which he was accused of defrauding California workers' compensation carriers out of $7 million. The jury on Wednesday found Dr. Sim Hoffman not guilty of filing a fraudulent claim, less than a week after a judge dismissed 120 other charges against the radiologist and owner of Advanced Professional Imaging, Advanced Management Services and Better Sleeping Medical Center, all in Buena Park.
