A mental health therapy aide at the New York City Children’s Center was indicted for allegedly working a second job while collecting more than $35,000 in workers’ compensation benefits, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced.
James Garner, 49, claimed he was fully disabled between July 19, 2019, and July 31, 2020. The District Attorney’s Office said in a statement that an investigation found Garner was able to work and was employed during the period he was receiving benefits.
