Three of the four bills that would create a presumption that COVID-19 is compensable as an occupational condition made the California Chamber of Commerce’s annual “job killer” list.
The association says the presumption measures, along with the other bills on its list, threaten the state’s economic recovery and would hurt the ability of employers to rehire or maintain employment of current workers.
Workers’ compensation bills that made the list include AB 196, by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, D-San Diego, and AB 664, by Assemblyman Jim Cooper, D-Elk Grove.
