The U.S. Postal Service on Friday adopted a rule that includes a tenfold increase in the maximum reward for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of employees defrauding its workers’ compensation program.
Under the new rule, the Postal Service will be allowed to pay up to $100,000 for information about workers’ compensation fraud. Currently, the maximum reward is $10,000.
The Postal Service said in a notice published in the Federal Registry that the rewards for various offenses are being increased to reflect current valuations and severity of the actions.
