OSHA: Restaurant Cited for Exposing Workers to COVID-19 After Inspectors Are Threatened

Oregon’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health has fined a Florence restaurant more than $17,000 after its owners ignored workplace safety rules and exposed workers to COVID-19, the agency said in a news release. OSHA said the New Blue Hen willfully exposed its staff to the virus despite knowing it was violating health orders that called for limited indoor-dining capacity in areas considered “extreme risk” for contracting COVID-19.
