The owner of a Southern California janitorial firm was sentenced to one year in jail after pleading guilty to workers’ compensation fraud, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Victor Vega of Oxnard, owner of Vega Cleaning Service, underreported the amount of his payroll and the number of his employees to avoid premiums, prosecutors said. He pleaded guilty to four felony insurance fraud counts in April.
