A federal judge in Southern California on Friday found that Michael D. Drobot breached his plea agreement, a ruling that could expose the former Pacific Hospital of Long Beach owner to additional charges for his role in a spinal surgery kickback scheme.
U.S. District Court Judge Josephine Staton on Friday granted Drobot’s request to file a second brief attempting to explain his decision to use proceeds from the sale of two cars to pay mortgages and legal fees rather than wiring the money to the government to satisfy a $10 million criminal forfeiture order.
