Legislature Passes Parking Lot Coverage Bill; Assembly OKs Contractor Status for Caddies

The New Jersey Legislature approved a measure that would define when accidents that occur in employer-provided parking lots are compensable under the state’s workers’ compensation law. At the same time, the Assembly approved a bill that would define golf caddies as independent contractors who are not entitled to workplace protections, including workers’ compensation coverage for occupational injuries.
