Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has signed into law a bill that will help ensure faster payments of benefits and will change the method of determining benefits for vision loss.
Senate Bill 269, authored by Sen. Jon Ford, R-Terre Haute, is now state law, effective July 1. It requires insurers and employers to file a report with the Workers' Compensation Board within 14 days of the date the first benefits are due. The report must attest that the payments were made.
Previous law gave employers 15 days to file only an agreement about compensation benefits.
