A federal judge scheduled a hearing next month to determine whether attorney Lee Mathis is competent to stand trial on charges of paying kickbacks to providers who referred work comp patients to a medical company he created.
Attorneys for Mathis said they hired a psychologist who concluded that their client is not fit to stand trial.
