Landscaper Faces Felony Charges 3 Years After Employee's Death

Prosecutors in Northern California have charged a landscaping company owner roughly three years after one of his employees died in an on-the-job accident. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office announced last week that it had filed two felony counts against Segundo Collazos, owner of Amazon’s Landscaping Co. in Concord. Manuel Peralta, then 68, of Antioch, worked for Amazon’s Landscaping in 2018 when he died while operating a stump grinder in San Ramon, according to the DA’s Office.
