The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation announced that the owner of a water removal and restoration company was ordered to pay $15,944 in restitution for operating without comp coverage.
Daniel Hand, owner of FloodStar Restoration, pleaded guilty on Sept. 23 to one count of failure to comply. He was ordered to pay restitution to the BWC and sentenced to two years of probation.
The bureau said it contacted Hand after receiving an allegation that his company had allowed its coverage to lapse.
