Finance Committee Passes Bill to Cover Anxiety, Depressive Disorders

A fiscal committee in the Virginia General Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a bill that would make anxiety and depressive disorders compensable for cops and firefighters. Lawmakers in 2020 passed legislation covering post-traumatic stress disorder experienced by police and firefighters without requiring them to prove the mental trauma accompanies a physical injury and results from an unusually shocking event, as all other workers in the state must.
