Mining Co. Owner Seeks Control of Lackawanna Ins.

The co-owner of a Pennsylvania coal-mining company has applied to acquire control of the Lackawanna Insurance Group, a monoline workers' compensation carrier that does business exclusively in Pennsylvania, according to a notice in the Aug. 8 edition of the Pennsylvania Bulletin. According to the notice, Michelene Pagnotti filed an application on July 27 to acquire Lackawanna American Insurance Co., Lackawanna Casualty Co. and Lackawanna National Insurance Co.
