DWC Extends Rule Allowing Telemedicine for Rehab, PT, OT

The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation has extended an emergency rule allowing telemedicine-based rehabilitation and physical therapy to be reimbursed — at least until Oct. 8. The rule was adopted in April to promote telemedicine and social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. It expired this week. But it's unlikely the rule can be extended again without the normal, monthslong rulemaking process and public comment period.
