The laws of the state in which a workers’ compensation claim is filed control whether an injured worker has any standing to bring a negligence claim in Arizona, the state’s high court ruled.
Stephanie Jackson wouldn’t have standing to sue an Arizona business for negligence if she had filed her workers’ compensation claim in the Grand Canyon state.
