California lawmakers are scheduled to hear testimony on a bill that would require boosting workers’ compensation benefits by the difference in wages paid to men and women.
The Senate Committee on Labor, Public Employment and Retirement is holding a hearing on SB 1458 on April 18.
SB 1458, by Sen. Monique Limón, D-Santa Barbara, would add a new section to the Labor Code that uses mandatory employer reports to adjust workers’ compensation benefits when there is a disparity in what a business pays to men and women.
