Agency Changes Inpatient Hospital Reimbursements, Ups Rehab Consultant Fees

The Department of Labor and Industry’s Workers’ Compensation Division has given notice that, effective Oct. 1, payments for non-critical access hospital inpatient discharges will be adjusted upward by 6.81%, from $183,523 to $196,021. Minnesota Statutes § 176.1362, Subdivision 2, is amended to state that if a hospital’s usual and customary charges for a patient’s hospitalization exceed $175,000, reimbursement must not be based on the MS-DRG (Medicare Severity-Diagnosis Related Group) system but instead must be paid at 75% of usual and customary char...
