Owner of Construction Company Accused of Payroll Fraud

The Florida Department of Financial Services announced that the owner of a construction company was arrested for an alleged payroll fraud scheme that avoided more than $88,000 in work comp premiums. Yoni O. Martinez, owner and president of LAMX Construction Co. Corp., was arrested May 3. The department said Martinez is accused of claiming $119,150 in annual payroll to Southeast Personnel Leasing for the policy periods of July 2014 to January 2017.
