Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee is asking lawmakers to stay away from controversial measures and focus on the budget during the special session that started Monday, according to media reports.Inslee said he and fellow Democrats are no longer insisting the Legislature pass measures relating to gun control, abortion coverage or college aid for illegal aliens.
