Some workers’ compensation experts feared the COVID-19 pandemic would negatively affect initial access to care for California workers who filed non-virus-related claims last year.
An analysis by the California Workers’ Compensation Institute, however, found that not only did access to care for many workers not change at all, but some actually were able to receive treatment more quickly than in the year prior to the pandemic.
