The Wyoming Workers’ Compensation Division is proposing to adopt a new medical fee schedule using Medicare’s Resource-Based Relative Value Scale for services provided in 2023.
Historically, the division has used “relative values for physicians” to calculate payments owed to providers who treat injured workers. The division said this is an outdated methodology developed in the 1950s that accounts for the provider’s time and skill, the risk to the patient and the physician, and the severity of the patient’s illness.
