HEMIC Donates Slippers from TV Ad to Charity

Hawaii Employer Mutual Insurance Co. donated 1,800 pairs of new rubber slippers to a state charity that provides basic necessities including food, clothing and household furniture to people in need. The carrier had the slippers after filming a television ad in which two factory workers lament receiving a “botched batch of bumpy rubber uppers” from a hypothetical company called “big brother rubber." The tongue-twisting ad spot concludes with the message that, “You have enough to worry about with your business. Let HEMIC worry about your workers' comp insurance....
