After she and her husband were convicted on a premium fraud charge in 2003, Kim Marugg divorced him and married the man who prosecuted her for the crime.
Three years after her new husband died in 2013, Marugg petitioned the court to vacate her conviction, on the grounds that her new husband had failed to present exonerating evidence to the grand jury that had indicted her and had multiple affairs, including one with another woman he prosecuted for insurance fraud.
San Diego County Superior Court Judge Kathleen M. Lewis denied the petition.
