Federal workplace safety officials said a worker in Massachusetts died after inhaling airborne cannabis dust in January.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed penalties totaling $35,219, saying Trulieve Holyoke Holdings LLC failed to provide employees with training and information about the hazards of working with ground cannabis.
According to multiple media reports, 27-year-old Lorna McMurrey worked at Trulieve’s cultivation facility in Holyoke. She went into cardiac arrest at work in January and died at a hospital a couple of days later.
