The U.S. Department of Justice announced that a federal jury in Texas convicted a doctor and the owners of a pharmacy of participating in a scheme that netted $90 million in payments for medically unnecessary compound creams prescribed to injured federal workers in exchange for kickbacks.
Dehshid Nourian, 59, and Christopher Rydberg, 47, controlled Ability Pharmacy, Industrial & Family Pharmacy and Park Row Pharmacy in the Fort Worth and Arlington area. A 2019 superseding indictment alleged that they paid Dr. Michael Taba, 59, to prescribe unnecessary compound creams.
